It's not too late! You can still register for the Black Cat Speakeasy, the coolest dry Speakeasy ever! This Saturday, October 30 in Melrose MA at Corinthian Hall (which is really pretty, by the way), the Commonwealth Vintage dancers will be hosting the Black Cat Speakeasy from 8 to 10 PM. And if you go to the website right now and register, you can avoid the $5 at the door surcharge. So hurry! More information (and a chance to register) here. I hope to see you there!

Event Announcement - 1920s Mostly Victorian Teadance
This weekend there is going to be a dance workshop in Cambridge. It will be the perfect opportunity to learn some things in preparation for the Black Cat Speakeasy (hope you are saving the date! October 30!). Barbara Pugliese will be teaching some lovely dances, and I will be teaching some Charleston, because nothing says 1920s like the Charleston. So make sure to come out for the dance this Sunday! More info available at the CVD website here, and you can even buy a ticket now (but you don't have to).

A Fancy Dress Fashion Plate
October means Halloween, and Halloween means costumes. But because my whole life is costumes, this has got to mean something a little more specific. Right now, I am very in the mood for some pretty fancy dress pictures. Of course, I haven't got any time while I am at school for sewing (too busy with physics... bleh!). But that won't stop me from getting some pretty pictures! Here is a cute fashion plate, then.

Pictures from Nahant - IOU a Gold Ballgown
Approximately forever ago (July!) I promised you pictures of the gold ballgown I made for a ball in Nahant. Several camera and computer issues later, I have finally remembered that I owe you these. Yay! The dress is really quite sparkly and impressive in person... hopefully some of this comes across in the pictures.
